Blue was the color of the day at Trooping the Color during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Not only was she adorned in a powder blue ensemble, but Kate Middleton and all three of her and Prince William’s children wore different shades of the color. Prince George wore a navy blue suit and tie; Princess Charlotte wore a turquoise dress. But it was Prince Louis who evoked fond memories in a white and blue sailor suit his father wore to the same event in 1985 when he was just 3, according to the Independent.
The prince waved adorably to the crowd during the procession, and cameras even caught a sweet moment between Charlotte and Louis as they rode in the carriage. A Video Posted on Twitter, the princess showed her gently squeezing Louis’ hand on his lap as he got a little overzealous with his wave.
After the parade, all three children joined Queen Elizabeth on the royal balcony to watch Royal Air Force planes, the New York Post reports. Royal watchers believe she will also accompany her mum to the Superbloom flower show (via the Telegraph), which will feature a giant slide and colorful flower displays, according to People.
We can’t wait to see what they wear! In the meantime, you might be surprised to learn that the royal family has a long history of dressing their children in nautical-inspired clothing.
